Three of Chalices and Nine of Wands

There has been plenty over the past days and even weeks that have left us naturally on edge, suspicious, leery, depressed, or uncomfortable. People have lost their lives, whether by natural phenomenon such as weather, or by the wickedness of men. People are rightfully protesting while others cry out in counter-protest. It's enough to make anyone sick of it all. I turned off the TV, stay off social media as much as possible, and remind myself to focus on the good which is precisely what today's cards are saying.

It's only natural to feel like the world is crashing down and that there is a lack of light but it's merely our perspective. Those protesting and fighting for those whose voices need to be heard, those who run towards a catastrophe to help assist--there's the light. Those people are what is good in the world. Yes, there has been loads of negativity but we can't allow it to bog ourselves down. The change that is needed isn't going to happen overnight so we must prepare ourselves for the long haul. It can happen and we need to ensure it will happen--but we must first take care of ourselves. Like the famous quote, whom I do not know where it originated, says:

How then are we supposed to do this? By rejoicing and celebrating the small joys in life. By recognizing and giving thanks for the blessings we've been bestowed. It's not selfish but necessary. Always give thanks for what you have as it could be gone tomorrow. Also give thanks because not everyone has been granted the same conditions, circumstances, or opportunities. Give thanks then go out and work to ensure everyone may equally delight in the pleasures of life. Allow yourself to feel happy, grateful, and joyful for the abundance within your life.

Find something in your life, big or small, that is worth celebrating and giving thanks for. Allow yourself to have this moment of happiness and joy. This feeling of accomplishment and achievement. Now, more than ever, it is important to keep the light in our hearts and spirits alive--not just flickering dimly.

Brightest of Blessings,

The Autumn Witch
