I had always found myself drawn and interested in Black Tourmaline ever since I'd seen a YouTuber talk about it, however I'd never put it on "Witchy Shopping List." Eventually, around March (this was in 2016) I happened to recall an old friend tell me about this crystal shop that wasn't too far from my house so excitedly I hurried there in hopes of finally obtaining my own black tourmaline. I did find one and bought it without much thought or deliberation which I realized later had been a mistake. That particular black tourmaline I'd purchased, while beautiful and small, didn't resonate with me. Bummed, I'm put him away in my magickal cabinet. That's an important take-away: Pick your crystals with thought and make sure their energy resonates!
A few months later, about late July, I returned to the crystal shop and found myself drawn to a rough piece, bigger than the one I already possessed. Well, having one unfortunate experience really saddened me and I walked away in search of a different crystal. It's important to remember that some crystals will resonate with you and some won't. Anyways, I kept finding myself wandering near that black tourmaline and it kept catching my eye--in short, it was very much screaming at me "Dummy!! Me!! Me!!Pick Me!!". I did decide to buy it and I don't think I've ever had a stone that has worked so well for me!
I cleansed it underneath the Full Moon which also happened to be a Blue Moon which was just awesome! The next day I was watching some YouTube videos when I happened across one from Pyperh found here: Pyperh's The 3 Day Crystal Challenge . Perfect! It was all perfect timing, don't you think?
I didn't know a whole lot about Black Tourmaline in all reality but I did know it was very protective against negative energy and helps transmute it into positive energy so that's what I programmed it to do. Wow! It did that and so much more! Immediately after holding it in my hand for a few minutes I felt very grounded and rooted to the earth which was something I really was in need of. Within two days, I already felt a difference in my life and when I didn't carry it I could tell.
One of the things it helped me with was working with and releasing a very few rooted fear I've had since I was little. I just felt more confident and powerful which in turn led me to no longer fear the problem. Later on, I discovered that is one of its uses. It made me feel protected and at peace. It even helped me with negative thoughts I'd been having and instead allowed me to focus more on the positive in my life.
Before working with this crystal, I hadn't had any really profound experiences with crystals. I also think that it wouldn't have been such a wonderful experience if I hadn't decided to do this challenge. Normally I only work with a crystal for a few minutes to a day and while they've helped, I've just never had any real WOW-moments. It was one of those experiences that I don't think I could properly articulate it. So, I implore you to do this challenge yourself, if you want, and see what it holds for you. If there is a crystal that you've been wanting to work with lately but just haven't gotten around to it, then this is your sign to do it! Grab that crystal and let's go! :)
