Good Morning and Happy Tuesday!
This morning I found myself in one hell of a mood. Like irritable doesn't even begin to describe it. I let myself feel it, as I think we should, before deciding I had to get out of this funky energy. So, I brewed a cup of herbal tea, lit some good smelling candles (Pine which is one of my favorite scents), and put on some beautiful classical music.
I allowed the warmth of the tea to surround me. I paid attention to the wonderful scents that were uplifting to my spirit. I quietly let the calming music wash away my irritability.
I didn't rush. I allowed myself to experience this sliver of joy and peace. My mood did shift and drastically. Now I feel I'm better equipped and prepared to begin my day versus if I'd just thrown myself into it while already in a bad mood as I've found that when I'm already feeling crappy then there is always more to make my mood even fouler.
If you find yourself feeling irritable, frustrated, upset, or angry, give yourself permission to take just a few moments, if that's all the time you have, to breathe. Put on some beautiful music. Light your favorite candle. Do something that will brighten your mood and elevate your heart.
It makes life so much easier and definitely livelier. We shift from resistance to flow.
