Good Morning and Happy Monday!
So, originally this post was going to be about something else but I had to share with y'all a funny and interesting experience that happened to me last night! Before I begin, I have to tell y'all that if you've followed me for any amount of time, you will know that I'm obsessed with my genealogy and working on my family tree is how I honor my ancestors. Nobody in my family has ever cared so I didn't know anything about them--certainly not even their names! Like I didn't even know my great-great grandparents' names (except my Granny on my dad's side) because they just weren't talked about.
This is how I make sure their names are remembered and work towards keeping their histories alive. Sometimes I get super inspired to work on it and when a specific ancestor comes to mind, I know it's them getting my attention. Well, Saturday night I suddenly found myself right back in the tree, digging and searching except not for any specific ancestor--which happens. Except this time, something felt different.
This is why I asked whoever it was to come to me in my dream and let me remember. My dream that night ended up being one where I was having to research my family line to claim something that ought to be mine and Myers came up. That's one of the maternal surnames in my family. Not long after that, my grandmother's name came up so I knew the ancestor was in that direction. Instead of telling me who they were, they were leading me breadcrumbs to follow.
I sat here journaling about it and I ended up writing that the spirit seemed mischievous. No sooner had I written that word than my phone began playing a song I'd never heard before. I checked my phone and watch but there weren't any apps up at all. As I tried to figure out where the sound was coming from, the volume on my phone turned all the way up so it was blaring!
I knew this was like confirmation from the ancestor. Thanks to Shazam, I found out the song is Happy & Free by Blue Heron Creates--a band I've never heard of before and a song just released in 2020. Oddly enough the lyrics never played. It was only the instrumental music.
Just a neat and fun experience I wanted to share😁
