Good Morning and Happy Saturday!
It's a beautifully rainy cool morning here so I've got a comfy sweater on, candles burning, and the coffee brewing. It's quiet and a moment I am grounded in.
I have found that mornings where I can get myself up before everyone else have such an impact on my day...though it's not necessarily just the getting up that does the trick. It's these quiet moments where it's just me, my coffee (or tea, depending on the day), and my time to prep for the day that truly makes all the difference.
I have the time to journal without worrying about someone asking for help. I can do yoga without being in anyone's way. I can pray and meditate without worrying about someone walking in and disrupting me.
These are all ways I center and energize myself for the day ahead and I can definitely tell a huge difference in days that I do them and days I don't. Because let's be honest....sometimes that snooze button is just way too seductive, especially when I'm cozy and warm in my bed.
If you have to wait until everyone is off to work and school before you can manage some you-time, take advantage of that. Allow that to be a time to recenter yourself. To calm yourself. To realign with spirituality.
This is so important because we don't want to start our days in a state of chaos or stress as that will bleed into the rest of our day. Mornings that I can't get myself to rise early (and as I said, I'm human and I definitely have those days!), I ensure to find a moment sometime during the day, preferably still in the morning, where I can come back to myself. Realign. Adjust.
